Manny Rutinel enjoys 2-to-1 advantage on Shannon Bird in Colorado House District 8 primary

CCR's poll showed Manny Rutinel leading Shannon Bird 44–24 in CO-8, a 2:1 ratio that suggests a comfortable outcome for the State Assembly-member. The underlying approval data reinforced it: Rutinel's net approval was +51 versus Bird's +13, signaling a structurally durable lead unlikely to close in the final week.

Methodology

Colorado Community Research conducted a text-to-web survey of 796 likely voters in the 2026 Colorado Democratic primary. For the purposes of Congressional District 8 we sampled 94 voters. The survey was conducted between May 22 and May 28, 2026. The survey data were weighted to represent the expected turnout demographics of the 2026 Colorado Democratic primary election, using historical primary participation data from the Colorado Secretary of State. The survey was conducted independently but results were made available for purchase after the completion of the study.
