Summary of post-election coverage from our Statewide poll on the Democrat Primary

The Hill: “A Colorado Community Research poll released earlier this month had shown Hickenlooper leading by 7 percentage points, with a sizable amount of voters undecided. Though his edge appeared to slim in some polling as the primary approached, he boasted a significant name ID advantage over his challenger, with 56 percent of respondents in that poll reporting they hadn’t heard enough about her to form an opinion.”

Decision Desk HQ: “After all, Hickenlooper remains reasonably popular among likely primary voters — 62% favorable vs. 32% unfavorable in a late May poll from Colorado Community Research. Yet he underperformed those numbers in his primary.”

US News & World Report: “Despite seeing his lead drop to 7 points in a June 8 Colorado Community Research poll, Hickenlooper won the Democratic primary with [52.8%] of the vote, defeating state Sen. Julie Gonzales, who took [47.2%].”
